A cool monochrome Swedish home

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">P and I had very different ideas of what we were looking for when we bought <a href="http://www.myscandinavianhome.blogspot.se/search?q=my+home+captured" target="_blank">our house</a> but after a broad search we moved 50 metres! My parents did the same when we were small. It just goes to show what you are looking for is often right under your nose! Do you find this to be true? Swedish pair Lina and Andreas Kanstrup were planning a new build when a house came on the market 100 metres away. They were sceptical but the moment they walked in the door they <i>knew</i> it was right and all building plans went out the window. They renovated their new house from scratch learning lessons on the way and relying on gut instinct. Della's delightful room

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">As you may know I'm a proud Mum to two lovely ladies who are 3 and 5. I've realised that no room is more fun to decorate than a children's room. Not only can you go a bit wild, but also it needs constant updating as they grow - perfect excuse if ever I needed one!  I'm always keeping an eye out for children's rooms on <a href="http://www.pinterest.com/nikiatmsh/children/" target="_blank">Pinterest</a>. And today I spotted this very cool space belonging to little 18 month old Della. Swedish apartment in white and grey

I just spotted this Swedish apartment currently<a href="http://www.alvhemmakleri.se/hem-till-salu/obj17735_1330488022/bilder" target="_blank"> for sale</a> and thought I must nip in and share it with you. It's very classic Swedish style (in my eyes anyway, would you agree?) with it's white and grey colour theme and lovely designer pieces. House for Mother

I hope you had a lovely weekend (and enjoyed my rare <a href="http://www.myscandinavianhome.blogspot.se/2014/04/a-light-and-relaxed-amsterdam-home-and.html" target="_blank">Sunday home tour</a>). It's so gloomy here in Southern Sweden today but it's OK because I've a beautiful project to share! 'House For Mother' (great name?), is the brainchild of <a href="http://www.f-a-f.se/" target="_blank">Förstberg Arkitektur</a> as their contribution to the <a href="http://wp.linkopingsbo2016.se/" target="_blank">Linköpingsbo 2017</a> housing exhibition. While the outside will be constructed of raw corrugated aluminium, the inside will be designed using exposed timber and walls lined with plywood to add warmth. This is definitely going to be categorised under my '<a href="http://www.myscandinavianhome.blogspot.se/search/label/fabulous%20architecture" target="_blank">fabulous architecture</a>' label! The cool home of a Danish architect

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">It's Friday, the sun's shining and things are hotting up here in Malmö! Hope they are where you are too?! Just over the bridge in Denmark is this oh so cool Danish home belonging to architect <a href="http://holscherdesign.com/" target="_blank">Friederike Faller</a>. Friedericke and his family have decorated the space with muted tones and made maximum use of every square inch (check out the high storage in the hall, kitchen, sitting room and dining room and the desks in the bedroom). A zen Australian home with fabulous architecture

I'm not sure if I'm ready to post yet today - I'm still recovering from the idyllic Swedish cabin in <a href="http://www.myscandinavianhome.blogspot.se/2014/04/a-lovely-relaxed-cabin-in-stockholm.html" target="_blank">yesterday's post</a>. Wasn't it fantastic?! I need to find somewhere like that to stay this summer. Anyway, onwards and upwards and from one beautiful home to another beautiful home in a very different way. This Australian home was designed by <a href="http://whitingarchitects.com/" target="_blank">Whiting Architects</a> (found over at beautiful <a href="http://blissfulbblog.com/blog/2014/4/1/australian-abode-by-whiting-architecture.html" target="_blank">Bliss blog</a>). Look closely at the interior architecture and you'll see nooks, hidden windows, barn doors and beautiful lighting. A lovely relaxed cabin in the Stockholm archipelagos

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">Since the clocks went forward and the evenings have got lighter, I've dared to dream of long lazy summer days. In Scandinavia it's popular to head to pared-back summer cottages by a sea or lake and spend the summer surrounded by family, friends and nature. This bohemian cabin out in the Stockholm archipelago is the holiday home of Swedish designer <a href="http://www.carouschka.se/" target="_blank">Carouschka Streijffert</a>. Decorated with a mix of antique finds and treasures picked up on travels,  it's surely impossible to be anything but relaxed with it's laid back style and incredible vista.
