My new vintage/industrial scissor wall lamp

Since then it's been something of an adventure getting it installed including a trip into town, a lamp shop, an electrical shop and a visit to a pensioners apartment where I met a lovely man in his 80's at a small desk fixing the people of Malmö's lamps. "I do love it when you young people acquire old things" he said, "and this one's a real beauty." By the time I got home I was grinning from ear to ear with my prized possession.. My home at Christmas

The only positive is that it's supposed to snow tonight and I do love a little snow around Christmas! Maybe a walk in the forest with my three year old who's going horse riding, or wrapping up warm to take my elder daughter to her ice skating lesson - BRRRR! My home: first signs of spring

Back home I cut a few sprigs from our Japanese Cherry tree and used them as a centre piece on our dining room table. Ours was completely jam packed with things but I think my favourite activity was taking my four year old horse riding out in anearby forest here in Skåne. I also got a round to taking a few pictures of our my new bedroom. We recently moved to the top floor and it's such a beautiful space, flooded with light. I made the dusty pink cushion out of a vintage style silk dress. The limited edition heart print was an engagement present and is by Pearl Wallin. The rustic side stools are from <a href="http://www.lovelyandcompany.co.uk/" target="_blank">Lovely and Company</a>. My gold heels are from <a href="http://www.bianco.com/country" target="_blank">Bianco</a> and the industrial lamp is <a href="http://hay.dk/" target="_blank">Hay</a>. The brass bedside lamp was a vintage find. Hmmm, I think that's everything but I've missed something just give me a shout!<br /><br />Here are a few tips on where things are from: the pendant light is the <a href="http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90147465/" target="_blank">Maskros</a>. I do love it but it's been up for a while so I'm thinking of changing to something else, any suggestions? I'm thinking about the <a href="http://www.nest.co.uk/browse/product-type/lighting/pendant-lights/modernica-bubble-ball-pendant-lamp" target="_blank">bubble ball light</a>. I also love the Vitra <a href="http://www.designcollectors.com/EN/product/1263/vitra-potence/" target="_blank">Potence lamp</a> but perhaps this would be better in our <a href="http://www.myscandinavianhome.blogspot.se/2012/12/my-home-sitting-room-winner.html" target="_blank">sitting room</a>. <br /><br />Lots to do still but it's a start! :)<br /><br />I hope you all have a lovely Monday!

Almost everything else was picked up at one of my favourite local shops <a href="http://www.uddatina.se/" target="_blank">Udda Tina</a> - the bed spreads, the long suffering stag (his right antler has been glued on more times than I can remember!), the white basket, purple dressing-up box and picture frames are all <a href="http://www.rice.dk/" target="_blank">Rice</a>. The pretty patterned boxes are <a href="http://en.housedoctor.dk/catalogue" target="_blank">House Doctor</a>. The handsome giraffe is from a local Fair Trade Shop. I made the purple cushion using fabric from <a href="http://www.pandurohobby.com/" target="_blank">Panduro's Hobby</a> and the rug is <a href="http://www.designersguild.com/uk-shop-online/shop-home/designers-guild-kids/kids-rugs/" target="_blank">Designers Guild</a>.<br /><br />If you look closely you'll see I've cheated a little - these pictures haven't been taken on the same day so all the items have moved around a bit, it is a children's room after all! :)<br /><br />The next step is the other side of the room - still a work in progress! <br /><br />I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

My dining room: touch of spring

My family and I headed off to a lake here in Southern Sweden called Krankesjön to enjoy some ice-skating and a barbicue on the frozen lake.  The sun was shining and the snow sparkled like diamonds. The desk, storage unit and arch lever lamp are from <a href="http://www.ikea.com/" target="_blank">IKEA</a>. The pictures are my own, except the heart one which is by one of my favourite Swedish artists, Pearl Wallin. The silver birch pen holders and white tin jug are from <a href="http://www.granit.se/" target="_blank">Granit</a>.
