House for Mother

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">Good morning! I hope you had a lovely weekend (and enjoyed my rare <a href="http://www.myscandinavianhome.blogspot.se/2014/04/a-light-and-relaxed-amsterdam-home-and.html" target="_blank">Sunday home tour</a>). It's so gloomy here in Southern Sweden today but it's OK because I've a beautiful project to share! 'House For Mother' (great name?), is the brainchild of <a href="http://www.f-a-f.se/" target="_blank">Förstberg Arkitektur</a> as their contribution to the <a href="http://wp.linkopingsbo2016.se/" target="_blank">Linköpingsbo 2017</a> housing exhibition. While the outside will be constructed of raw corrugated aluminium, the inside will be designed using exposed timber and walls lined with plywood to add warmth. This is definitely going to be categorised under my '<a href="http://www.myscandinavianhome.blogspot.se/search/label/fabulous%20architecture" target="_blank">fabulous architecture</a>' label! How about you?<br /><br />Oh and I love the <a href="http://www.designonline.se/Products/sek1/Trademark/Atelje+Lyktan/16995/Bumling+lampa+stor" target="_blank">Bumling lamp</a>, featured in House for Mother (had to repeat the name as it's so lovely) in white.<br /><br />I hope you have a wonderful start to the week!</div>

A smart and wonderful small living space

I was <strike>having fun</strike> working on <a href="http://www.pinterest.com/nikiatmsh/" target="_blank">Pinterest </a>this morning and found this perfect little living space in Antwerp owned by Caroline. I love the use of plywood throughout the home - both as kitchen cabinets and as room dividers. The important thing about this space (in my eyes) is that Caroline has been careful to divide up the space into specific areas such as a sitting room, dining, and bedroom despite space limitations. A stunning Dutch home blending old and new. And give-away winner....

Hello! I hope you had a wonderful weekend? I ended last week with a <a href="http://myscandinavianhome.blogspot.se/2013/11/a-touch-of-autumn-in-stunning-dutch-home.html" target="_blank">Dutch home tour </a>and this week I'll start with one too (talk about going Dutch!). This one hundred year old farmhouse owned by Rosemarijn van Zandvoort of <a href="http://skattejaktstudio.blogspot.nl/" target="_blank">Skattejakt</a> (check out her beautiful<a href="http://skattejaktshop.blogspot.nl/" target="_blank"> shop</a> and <a href="http://skattejaktstudio.blogspot.nl/" target="_blank">blog</a>) has been carefully restored using a blend of old and new. But when I see Rosemarijn's home it gives me confidence that everything doesn't need to match. A transportable house? I'm sold!

Imagine if you could simply transport your home somewhere else this weekend? Crazy idea right? Wrong! A beautiful Malmö home

I do love discovering a home from here in Skåne. And this particular house (for sale through <a href="http://bo-laget.se/objektvy.php?id=1620" target="_blank">Bo-laget</a>) resonates with me as my family and I looked around one of these fab Friluftstaden houses a few years ago. I I love the way they have decorated the house with light wood, modern Danish design pieces from <a href="http://www.hay.dk/#/site/products/new" target="_blank">Hay</a> and <a href="http://www.muuto.com/" target="_blank">Muuto</a> as well as the odd classic and chosen a beautiful soft milky colour palette throughout. I do love to start the week off with a bang and I think this Polish apartment certainly does the trick! It's actually only 29 sqm but looks bigger thanks to the light colours and clever architecture. I love the plywood throughout, in a small space it's important to keep to a theme and have a consistent thread through out. A bang on trend malmö home

You'll have definitely seen this home floating around the blog world. But I am particularly excited and have more reason than most to show this fab home - I know the owners! They are a wonderful, fun and talented family. She's a designer with her own Copenhagen based company and he's an architect which explains all the fantastic renovation. They really haven't lived there that long and they've done absolutely loads; including an all white canvas, new plywood stairs, kitchen cabinets and shelving units among other things. All in all they've turned it into a fun, beautiful, sunlight drenched home and guess what?
